Camera control
at the briefcase grip.
The new Electronic Briefcase Handle integrates record start/stop, gimbal joystick, and parameter control directly into the briefcase position. No need to reach for the main grip mid-shot. The brightness-adjustable button display shows live status.
Touchscreen subject
selection.
The DJI RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking Module attaches magnetically and tracks people, animals, and objects in frame. Tap a subject on the gimbal touchscreen, use a gesture, or pull the trigger to lock. Re-acquires after temporary obstruction. Works with native camera apps, no DJI Mimo dependency.
Fine-tuning knobs.
Teflon™-enhanced.
Three fine-tuning knobs for precise millimetre-level balancing on each axis. Teflon-coated arms reduce friction during balance, particularly useful when swapping lenses mid-shoot. New Z-axis indicator confirms balance state at a glance.
2nd-gen.
Smaller gaps.
Second-generation automated axis locks engage on power-off and disengage on power-on — no manual lock toggling. Smaller mechanical gaps when locked further reduce gimbal shake during transport and storage. Faster transition between active and stowed states.
1 hour to full.
15% longer runtime.
BG33 Battery Grip charges to full in approximately 1 hour with 65W PD charger. 15% extended runtime versus RS 4. 14-hour standby with the gimbal balanced and stationary. Note: BG33 grip is not currently available for purchase in India — initial Indian shipments use the legacy grip with shorter runtime.
Same RSA + USB-C ports.
Native Focus Pro.
Ronin Series Accessories (RSA)/NATO ports, 1/4″-20 mounting hole, cold shoe, Camera Control USB-C, Multifunctional USB-C. Native compatibility with DJI Focus Pro motor and LiDAR system, DJI Transmission, and the broader Ronin accessory ecosystem.

Need to know.
Should I upgrade from RS 4?+
Worth it if you regularly shoot solo and rely on tracking, or if you frequently switch between gimbal and briefcase grip mid-shoot. The Electronic Briefcase Handle and Enhanced Tracking Module are real workflow upgrades. Less compelling if your RS 4 is paired with Focus Pro and DJI Transmission already — the core stabilisation performance is similar.
RS 5 vs RS 4 Pro — which makes sense?+
Different tiers. RS 5 caps at 3 kg payload — fine for mainstream mirrorless (Sony A7 IV, Canon R6 II, Nikon Z6 III) with mid-range zooms. RS 4 Pro is 4.5 kg payload with 20% more motor torque, suited to heavier cinema setups (Sony FX3 with cinema lens, Canon R5C with cine zoom). Pick RS 5 for upgraded tracking/briefcase ergonomics; RS 4 Pro for pro lens systems.
Standalone vs Combo — what's the difference?+
Indian Combo configurations vary by stock. Typically the standalone version includes the gimbal, BG21 Battery Grip, Quick-Release Plate, Extended Grip/Tripod, and accessories. Combos add Focus Pro Motor and/or Briefcase Handle. Confirm exact contents at order time — we list what's included for each Combo on its individual product page.
Compatible with my DJI RS 4 accessories?+
Most RS 4 and earlier RS-series accessories carry forward, including Quick-Release plates, Briefcase Handle, and Tethered Control Handle. The BG33 grip is RS 5 specific. The DJI RS Series Universal Accessories List on DJI's support pages has the definitive compatibility chart.
