Tracks people.
And smartphones.
The optional DJI RS Intelligent Tracking Module attaches via Pogo Pin and tracks subjects without DJI Mimo. Gesture control starts/stops recording or adjusts framing. Compatible with both cameras and smartphones via the dedicated RS 4 Mini Phone Holder accessory.
0.4 to 2 kg.
Compact mirrorless.
Tested payload range 0.4–2 kg. Suited to compact mirrorless bodies (Sony A7C, Fujifilm X-S20, Canon R50, Nikon Z fc) with kit zooms or fast primes. Light enough to handhold for hours, sturdy enough for half-day shoots without arm fatigue.
3rd-gen native.
One tap.
Third-generation native vertical shooting — switch from horizontal to vertical with a single release-and-rotate action. Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts production from the same shoot as horizontal coverage. No additional bracket required.
2nd-gen.
Quick deploy.
Automated axis locks engage on power-off and release on power-on. The RS 4 Mini deploys from carry-mode to active gimbal in a few seconds. Combined with the Teflon-enhanced balance arms, setup time on location is significantly reduced.
Faster reaction.
Solo creator focus.
New Responsive Follow mode tightens the gimbal's reaction speed for solo creators tracking handheld subjects. Reduced lag between operator intent and gimbal motion — useful when filming yourself moving or rapidly reframing between subjects.
13 hours.
1h50m to full.
Built-in 3100 mAh battery delivers 13 hours of stationary runtime. Charges to full in approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes with a 30W charger. USB-C charging port supports passthrough — keep filming while charging from a power bank.

RS 3 Mini vs RS 4 Mini.

Need to know.
Should I upgrade from RS 3 Mini?+
Worth it if you want native vertical without brackets, the auto axis locks, or the Intelligent Tracking Module. The runtime improvement (10 → 13 hours) and 1h50m fast charge also matter for full-day shoots. Less compelling if you shoot mostly horizontal and the RS 3 Mini's vertical workflow doesn't bother you.
RS 4 Mini vs RS 4 — which?+
RS 4 Mini if your setup is under 2 kg and you value travel weight (890g vs 1066g) — A7C, X-S20, R50 with kit lens. RS 4 if you shoot heavier mirrorless rigs or use 24-70mm f/2.8 zooms with grip/cage accessories. RS 4 also has the joystick zoom mode and supports DJI Focus Pro motors; RS 4 Mini does not.
Standalone vs Combo — what ships?+
Standalone includes the gimbal, Quick-Release Plate, RS 4 Mini Tripod, L-Shaped Multi-Camera Control Cable, USB-C cable, and Screw Kit. Combo adds the Intelligent Tracking Module and RS 4 Mini Phone Holder. Combo recommended for solo creators or anyone shooting smartphones occasionally.
Will it hold my Sony A7 IV with 24-70mm f/2.8 GM?+
Right at the limit. The A7 IV body is 658 g, the 24-70mm GM II is 695 g — total 1353 g. Within the 2 kg payload budget but with limited headroom for accessories like a microphone or large filter. For long shoots with that combo, RS 4 (3 kg payload) gives more comfortable margin.
