Zenmuse H20T integrates a 20 MP zoom camera with 23× hybrid optical zoom, a 12 MP wide-angle camera, a 640×512 radiometric thermal camera, and a 1.2 km laser range finder. Released as DJI's first hybrid sensor solution and still actively sold for buyers whose missions don't justify the H30T's price tier. Honest positioning: this is the previous generation, and the H30T is materially better — but the H20T remains a credible choice when budget is the binding constraint.

Why buy H20T in 2026 instead of H30T?+

Honest answer: only if budget is the binding constraint, and you already operate a Matrice 300 RTK fleet. The H20T is materially older and the H30T improves every spec. But H30T pricing premium is significant, and for missions where 640×512 thermal is adequate (basic substation inspection, perimeter security, daylight asset surveys), H20T does the job at lower entry cost. Most enterprise buyers starting fresh today should pick H30T. The H20T's primary buyer is a M300 RTK operator extending their fleet at lower capex.

Drone compatibility — what works with H20T?+

M300 RTK only. Crucial caveat: H20T was discontinued for new SKUs around the M350 RTK launch — it does NOT mount on M350 RTK or M400 airframes despite physical similarities. If you're planning to upgrade airframes, plan the payload upgrade simultaneously — H30 series for the new airframes.

Software workflow — same pipeline as H30T?+

Substantially similar but slightly older toolchain. DJI Pilot (not Pilot 2) on M300 RTK's Smart Controller Enterprise or RC Plus. DJI Thermal Analysis Tool (the older standalone version, not Tool 3). DJI FlightHub for fleet management. R-JPEG files are forward-compatible — you can open H20T thermal captures in the newer Thermal Analysis Tool 3, but H20T's older format means slightly less metadata is available for post-flight emissivity tuning.

DGCA approval for thermal inspection in India?+

Same RPC + Digital Sky registration as any commercial UAS operation. Type Certificate required for the M300 RTK aircraft. Thermal payloads don't trigger additional permissions in green zones. Night operations require specific authorisation — common for thermal work, since low-ambient-temperature contrast improves thermal inspection quality. Sensitive infrastructure (defence, refineries, government plants) requires site-specific clearance. Jetayu can advise on documentation specific to your operation type.

Warranty and service+

1-year DJI manufacturer warranty, 7-day replacement on manufacturing defects, and optional AMC for accidental damage. All repairs at our in-house facility in Sector 66 Gurgaon. Enterprise buyers can also enquire about on-site commissioning and operator training as part of the procurement package.
